Second, this particular movie is apocalyptic, not gothic.

And Third, part of the reason Burton is so cult popular is his extremely gothic take on all of the stories he decides to take on or tell (which tend to be dark in nature to begin with...)

I understand all that, but I'm just saying it doesn't end up being gothy, at least any more than it obviously will be.

Oh, well essentially, it's a feature length version of a short made about a little patchwork... dude. And he's like the hope for a new world to begin anew or something.

Also, on an unrelated note, I watched Wristcutters the other day. It was good but I couldn't tell if it wanted to be serious or be a comedy at times so thats a minus, and I could tell what the end was gonna be 15 minutes in, thats another minus. Other than that though, it was good.

I dunno what wristcutters is, but I think you've told me about it before. On a sorta unrelated note, I saw Skycrawlers at Hasting's the other day, a whole kiosk.

It was a Sundance film that received a lot of attention awhile back.
